Rechargeable batteries, will be extremely valuable in an emergency situation. Power will be at a premium and batteries that can be charged over and over again, will be essential. Even more essential will be rechargeable batteries that can hold their charge. Sanyos Eneloop Batteries claim to hold 85% of their charge even after sitting for over a year. I’ve done my research and have found this to not necessarily be 100% true. What is true, however, is that these Eneloop batteries will outlast almost any other niMH batteries on the market. And they even come pre-charged. So, i’ve already begun stocking up on these and am very happy with their performance so far. Amazon, has a set that comes with a Battery Charger w/ 8 AA & 4 AAA Batteries Plus 2 C & 2 D Size Adapter for about $35 bucks (regular $50).
